Emma and I went to the Nutcracker at Hult last weekend. We were both just mesmerized with the whole experience. Definitely a repeat for next year.

A surprise gift basket from a friend containing little things she knew I would like. Very special to me.

We had a monogram ornament a couple years ago and it broke. I was so happy it was replaced with this one this year.

One of my favorites... notice the owl in the background. Lots of owl decor this month with Emma's owl themed birthday and some additions to her bedroom decor.

Emma has outgrown Santa and Hunter is leaning that way.

I love the ornaments that are full of glitter and sparkle.

Piero One has this shoe for the bottom of your dining room chairs. Would love to add that to our decor for next year.

Emma and Hunter take turns changing the hand. As you can see they are ahead a day. I wonder if they think they can trick us ;)

Pool Time

Rhett set up a little pool for the summer and we spent most days outside enjoying it. Here's a few pics.

Father's Day

We celebrated Father's Day a day early this year. We got up and got dressed and headed to Eugene to attempt the wild task of having breakfast together at a restaurant. I'm sure it has all to do with our parenting rather than our kids but trying to sit through a meal anywhere now days has not been worth sitting. But since it had been a while we decided to give it a try and it actually turned out really nice. After breakfast we headed to a nearby bike shop because Rhett wanted a bike for Father's Day.

Kruzer fell asleep watching a movie and Emma and Hunter waited patiently in the car while Rhett picked out his bike. Going into the store Rhett wanted just a cruiser bike but he decided while in the store he would not only buy a mountain bike but he would join a mountain bike riding group in Eugene. Go Rhett!

Now Kruz has just learned to peddle so he was more than thrilled that Daddy got a bike and they could take bike rides together now.

It works out perfect. Everyone rides and I run along side. I'm still trying to decide if I still want a cruiser bike or I want to buy a mountain bike too like Rhett.

Sunny Days

So maybe it's 60 out but when the sun is shining in Oregon you can't help but feel like it's 80 and you want to be outside. We had some nice warm days last week and Friday we let the kids play in the water. Yes they were shivering and the water was cold but lots of laughter as I sat back and watched.

The new thing was making a puddle to slide into until Rhett saw this and put a stop to it. Guess it ruins the grass.

By evening we could hardly wait for the sun to go down before we started roasting marshmallows

Rhett is always looking for ways to improve making the "smore" he found some sticks that make it easier to turn the marshmallows and he was very happy with the results.

New Adventure

During our recent trip my sister in law introduced me to some fun crafty ideas. I decided to go for it and start creating things as I go. I opened an Etsy Shop but am not quite ready to list any items yet. What's fun about this is that Emma loves doing anything crafty. So we stayed up late and worked on a couple of things last night. Here's what we have so far.

Emma picked out the colors for this and we made it last night. It's Black, Hot Pink and Silver.

I have more ideas for headbands other than the basic flower.

I love Fabric Rosettes! These can go on anything. I'll be using these on headbands along with some other things.

Emma and I worked on this Tutu last night. I love the sage and brown with the cream.

Last Day in LeClaire, Iowa

It's our last night and we decided to spend the day in the little downtown area of my brother's little town called LeClaire. I had no idea I was in for such a treat. I went a little crazy with the pictures but I couldn't stop. Everything was picture worthy.

This house was packed with little treasures. The basement was converted to a wine cellar which is pictured below.

Antiques in Illinois and Iowa are so much cheaper than Oregon or Arizona. We were in one place and the guy working asked us if we ever saw the show called American Pickers. Well ya!!! It was on this same street so we strolled on over.

By this time we were all so hot and sweaty. Its humid here!

We ate at this german restaurant that Jeremy and Heather like to eat at. I tried German pancakes and potato salad and they were good.

We miss you Tracee

On Saturday May 7th (Tracee's bday) my brother and my parents and I drove to Colfax, Iowa to visit my sister's grave. Tracee is buried next to her husband. I had not been back to the grave since when she first passed. My brother has a little tradition he does when he goes there. He stops to eat at Georgio's pizza. Its a place that he and Tracee had eaten when she was there burying her husband. So we did the same thing. We stopped and ate.

It was really random but we ran into Brad's sister and 2 of her kids at the restaurant.

Unique to their liking.

We had a dachshund growing up named Tiffy and she was Tracee's favorite.

This piece was recently added. I wish the sun hadn't covered over all the words with that shadow because I don't remember everything it said.

We stopped by Brads parent's house on our way out.

Letting the Happy Birthday balloon go. We miss you Tracee. Your always in our hearts and thoughts and one day we will see you again.

My Heart Runneth Over

Last night Emma and I flew into Moline, Illinois. We have anxiously been awaiting this trip to spend some time with my brother Jeremy and his beautiful family. It had been 3 years since I had seen Skylar Jeremy's oldest and neither of us had ever met Reina. Here are a few pictures I've taken of the girls.

In an unexpected turn of events I cut Hunter's hair. What was meant to be a trim to the back turned into the buzz of the clippers whacking away thick long hair. Hunter was excited of course. He's been wanting a mohawk (I am not trained enough to be cutting mohawks as you can see). What we found though is his hair is so use to being flat we will have to start all over training it to stand up.

Hunter called Rhett on the phone "Dad I have spiky hair." Rhett "I heard" Hunter, looking for approval, chatted away about his haircut.

He made me smile today. Rhett said he didn't want to wear his baseball cap at his game this afternoon because he wanted everyone to see his haircut. Maybe I should've been more patient and waited to have his hair trimmed professionally, regardless he's still my Hunter and cute as can be.

Wow 9 years

Tomorrow marks 9 years of marriage for us. It would be silly and completely false to create a picture of complete happiness the last 9. We both know without a doubt God definitely has and does have his hand over us because there is no other way to explain how we have made it this far.

Rhett's Aunt Deb sent us this card and we had a good laugh. The picture really is so appropriate.

Rhett gave me flowers earlier today so I could enjoy them longer he said.

We were going to renew our vows this summer but have decided we would wait for our 10 year anniversary instead.

T-Ball Time for Hunter

We signed Hunter up for T-Ball not really knowing if he would like it or not. Were still not really sure if he actually "likes" it but it has been so much fun watching him learn something new. Today was his first official game and I took a little video clip of him up to bat.

So we are a little behind on baseball apparel Yes he was the only one in shorts. A friend of mine from the game going on behind Hunter's came over to say hi. She said we spotted Hunter and his long hair lol. We just had it cut Sunday but today noticed that the back was left really long still........ so I think he may be sporting a slight mullet.

Easter 2011

We had a wonderful day today. Rhett got up early and went to a Sunrise Service with some friends at 6:30 a.m. yikes. We went to our regular church service together as a family. I sang in the choir and was so happy and blessed to be a part of such an awesome service.

Friday night we had some friends over for a BBQ then dyed Easter Eggs with the kids after.

New Bible Study

My friend Breanna is starting a 6 week bible study about David.

She asked everyone in this study to create a journal. We are to decorate the front of the journal with words or things describing our relationship with God now. The back of the journal is where we want it to be.

This is the front of my Journal.

I feel so thankful that I have the privilege to really know God. What I have found, probably more recently, is when my pursuit lacks passion my focus changes. My world slowly but quickly becomes about Me and not HIM.

I chose Worship as the theme for the back not because I love music but because Worship is a way of life. If there is one thing that I want to impart to my kids and bring to my home it's a heart of worship.

Christmas home in Yuma was so nice this year. The kids were worried Santa wouldn't know where the new house was but he made it just fine.

He knew the kids would have a blast on new quads. The were really surprised and they both love riding them!

Santa brought Kruzer a quad too just not a big one like his big sis and brother. HE just wanted to be on theirs.

Hunter is really into batman and spiderman so he was so excited about his new costume.

Can I please get up here?????

I love doing stockings. It's so fun to watch the kids faces as they take out toothpaste and shampoo they are so excited and its funny.

Christmas Programs

There were alot of performances during December but I was so proud of Emma who enjoyed being a part of every one.

My parents have been helping with this spanish church in Wellton. They helped out on a kids play for Christmas that included puppets and all. Emma and Hunter bother helped and we thought my parents did an amazing job. The didn't have access to alot of things since the church is new and just starting out but it came out sooo good.

My mom trying to teach the shephards their parts. Hunter was hillarious. During the actual show he fell down and became a dead shephard and we had to make him get up and get out!!!! I think he was getting it confused with playing a super hero!

Gosh we are getting old. Rhett was so supportive. We spent alot of time in Wellton in December.

I know I don't look the least bit happy but its just a bad pic during practice. During the service I sang and played the song Oh Holy night. The little girls dressed as angels including Emma helped me sing it and it was very sweet.

This is the Sunday before Christmas and our church combined all 4 services and did just one oustide. It was soooo good. Emma had a little dance part at the beginning and we were so proud of her. I just sat too far over so I didn't get any good pics.

Emma's ballet class came out in the Jesus is Born production our church puts on every year. She only had a small part in it but it was an amazing time. We had never seen a live presentation of the birth of Jesus ever performed the way our church puts in on. There were live animals and it was all outside. Just amazing.

We really enjoyed decorating the tree this Christmas. The kids all helped and Kruz didn't disturb the tree as much as we thought he would. Just other stuff!

Emma had a Christmas program for her kinder class and she was so excited about it. It was so fun to video tape her singing and just being a ham trying to get our attention up there and making sure we were watching her.

I tried to take a picture for a Christmas Card and no luck. This was the best I could do and it never made it to a card.

New Business

Well it's been a while since I've posted but it comes with good reason. In October Rhett and I opened up a new business called Line-X of Yuma. Line-X is a franchise that specializes in spray on truck bedliners and industrial protective coatings. We are right across the street from all the car dealerships in Yuma so it's been a great location for us. It has been an adjustment both of us working and having to find childcare for the kids, but we have been so blessed with all the help from our family. We recently added window tinting in our building and have two awesome tinters. We have a total of 3 emplyees and have remained steady since we have opened. God has really had a hand in everything since we have moved home. We truly feel blessed for where are at.

Labor Day in San Diego

Last weekend we took the kids over to San Diego. The kids are learning how to swim and we had some time to work on that while we were there. We stayed with Rhett's parents and they let us have couple of evenings to go out by ourselves while they watched the kids. Kruz loves the water and the sand. It was hard to keep up with him though. He was all over the place.

Hunter didn't like the salty taste of the water so he kept going over to the sand to lick it. It was hillarious.

The Yuma move and Kids new school

When I started our blog I wrote about how Rhett and I started toying with the idea of moving home to Yuma. At that time we weren't ready to make the big move quite yet. In July we both felt really strongly we were suppose to move home. So we made the move. When we moved to Oregon it was just me and Rhett with an explorer full of clothes a computer and my guitar. (The rest of our stuff would move later) We left Oregon with basically the same things plus a bronco and Kruz rode with us :). We are so happy to be here and near our family. They have been a huge blessing to us.

My parents found us a house to rent that was available to us the day the movers arrived with all of our stuff. So we were able to get unpacked most of the way before the kids started their new schools. Hunter still doesn't understand why he isn't at Emma's school, but he likes going to preschool now. Emma is going to a Christian preschool that offers Kinder.

Summer Haircuts!

Tracey and Taylor picked the kids up today and Taylor cut their hair. It was during Kruz's nap so I stayed home. I had to wait a whole 2 hours before I could see Emma's new haircut. It was worth the wait. She came home soooo excited and Tracey took great pics for me so its not even like I missed anything.

We went out to the Kenyon's last night and took the Rhino out there. We had a blast.

We had the opportunity to meet up with some old friends we hadn't seen in what seemed like forevor. Their names are Mark and Eva and they have an 18 month old son named Anders. We met them at a park in Junction City for a picnic.

Emma Graduates Preschool

Emma completed 2 years of Preschool and is now ready to start Kindergarten. The Preschool-5th Grade at Harris Private put on a Spring Program. Emma's class dressed up as something they want to be when they grow up. Emma decided to be a gardener. She had to recite one of the virtues she learned this year. Here she is on her tip toes trying to talk in the mic.
She said "I am patient, I wait and wait and wait with a smile"

We were amazed that all the kids could recite something at such a young age in front of all those people.

After a weekend in Yuma we went over to San Diego for 3 days and met our friends the Bucher's there.

On the first night Scott and Linda babysat all the kids so Rhett and I could take them to dinner and show them a little of San Diego.

My parents just moved back to Yuma this year so it was so nice to see both sides of our family on the same trip. Hunter and Kruz do not look very excited about taking a picture. I was interrupting their playing.

Disneyland

We did 2 days of Disneyland and California Adventures during our vacation a couple of weeks ago. It was Hunter's first time and Emma's 2nd but first time with us. We had a really good time and we look forward to going again in the future.

We had lunch with the princesses. The kids loved this.

Camping at the Coast

We love to camp so we decided to take a weekend and visit Florence. The kids get so excited. They love packing and the whole camping experience.

Rhett called this the romper room.

The weather was amazing for a coast day. It was sunny out and very light winds.

I let the kids dig in and get dirty which was huge for me.

Emma had a bucket full of broken seashells she collected.

After the beach and naps we visited the little downtown area of Florence. Here Rhett and Hunter are having a disciplinary moment.

Our good friends the Briggs invited us over for Easter. Well actually they invited us over to their parents house. Here are some random pics from that day. Hunter loves to wear cowboy boots and I love this picture of him with one leg in and one leg out.

Harris Private School Tea

I decided to host a table at Harris Private School's Tea this year. This was my first time attempting to do something like this since I'm not a Tea kind of person, but I had fun with it and so did Emma. The theme was Old County Fair and the colors were red white and blue. Here is my table. Emma came early with me to help. I invited 3 friends of mine who have daughters to sit at our table. Emma is patiently waiting for them to arrive.

Lily babysits for us sometimes. She is so sweet.

This is Kylee Resides my friend Brandi's daughter. She was so funny.
Then there is Miss Faye Ceniga. Her mom's name is Brandi too. Faye and Kylee together are hillarious.

Sydney Gent is Fayes cousin. Sydney and Emma are in ballet together.

The girls were given a ticket when they came in for a cotton candy.

I had a really nice evening with Emma and with our friends who joined us.

Our sweet Hunter turned 3 on Sunday and we had a little birthday party for him. This is the first year he really understood the party was for him so he was so excited. Here he is sitting at the table about an hour before the party lol so cute. This is Hunter's little friend Hayden. She stopped so I could take a picture and looks so serious!

The little boys loved the train table. It was hard to get them away from it.

Rhett and I put together a Treasure Hunt for the kids. We hung up clues all around the house. It was alot of fun and the kids seemed to enjoy it.

The last clue led to the party bags in the Treasure box.

Kruz is almost 8 months old now wow. Seems like he's taken off faster than our other two.

March has been a busy month. Seems like there were alot of Birthday parties and get togethers . Just thought I would post some random ones. My friend Trish is moving on Saturday to San Francisco. Tracey invited us over for dinner this week so we could all hang out with Trish one more time.

Ok this is from a different get together. This is my friend Maranda and Rachel. We were celebrating 4 birthdays this night and Maranda was one of them.

King Estate

It's not often Rhett and I get to leave the kids for an afternoon and go on a date.

Our good friends Mark and Tracey invited us to tour a local winery with them called King Estate.

As you can see in the background the view was amazing. I wish I wouldve taken a picture of the whole estate so you could see what it looks like as you drive up.

It was a little rainy but not bad. The weather was nice and cool.

We stopped these tourists to take a picture of us and they didn't speak good english. They took a picture of us with their camera too. It was cute.

We just followed the signs.

The man in the blue was the tour guide. He was so knowledgable. He lost me a few times.

We thought these doors were amazing. They were beautiful.

The picture we don't have is where I slipped in the gutter before making my way to the tank.

After the tour we sat down and had some appetizers. We would love to go back and have dinner there sometime.

Emma's Valentine Party

Today was Emma's Valentine's day party at school. Her teacher made it a pink day. I just loved Emma's pink Valentine outfit this year so I snapped a couple of pics. I think I need to find me some nylons just like these.

She had a wonderful day and really enjoyed getting to pass out her Valentine cards.

Dinner at the Bucher's

The Bucher's decided to have some friends over for Prime Rib a few nights ago. It had been a year since we all went on a cruise together so I brought along my camera to mark the occasion.

Here we are our crazy mix. Val, Kari, Me, Taylor, Linda, Tina Bucher and Tracey.
I just love my husband. He is so much fun.

Tina brought this cake out for dessert and it looked like dog bones all around the edges. They weren't dog bones. I forgot what she called them but, this ice cream cake was so rich and so tastey.

When these guys get together you never know what is going to happen. The bad thing is it seems like it's always Rhett who does it for them. This night they left Val a little surprise on her phone. Thats all I'm going to say about that.

Sunriver Trip

New Years day we decided to take the kids up to a place called Sunriver, about 15 miles from Bend. We rented a little cozy cabin for 3 nights in the resort. We had such an awesome time. Here are some pictures from our little vacation....

When we got there there was no fresh snow. So everything was really icy. We had to be careful when we walked cause you could slip so easily. The kids loved getting all bundled up in their warm clothes and of course I loved that everything matched and they looked so cute :)

Kruz was a real trooper. His face dried up and turned really red starting the first day we were there. It looked so painful but he didn't care. Emma ate it on the ice like 3 times. Luckily she didn't fall too hard. We took along our sitter Dillan to help us with the kids. It worked out so well and the kids loved having her along to play with them. We did too :)On the third day Rhett and Dillan took Emma and Hunter sledding in the resort on their sledding hill. We were hoping for fresh snow since it was the kids first time sledding but there wasn't enough. The kids did awesome and loved the fast slick icy hill. Dillan was the only person to run into a tree!!!!! She just laughed and got up and said "Im ok!"

Emma and Hunter kept thinking they were making snow angels. It was so funny cause they were laying on ice! Rhett bought Dillan this big jawbreaker sucker. He told her she had to finish it by the first day. She really worked on it but it took her 2 days not 1.
One night Rhett pulled out a puzzle the cabin had. The pieces were so little there was no way the kids would be able to do it. It showed on their faces....So we settled for Hungry Hungry Hippo. Even Kruz liked that one.I just had to throw this picture in. If Kruz's little legs get any bigger I just don't know what I'm going to do!!!! He outgrows everything so fast!!!!!We loved Sunriver and we love Bend. It will definately be a place we go back to again. Since my battery died in my camera I didn't get any pictures of our other friends who were renting at the resort as well. Oh well next time!

When the Hancocks decided to do a family blog we started a page. I never finished it though. So here is my attempt to start one with the new year.

This year was quite eventful for us. We started out expecting our 3rd child this time last year. Rhett also started a new job at Pacific Rubber in Dec of 07 which he loves.
Early March we went on a cruise with 6 other amazing couples. I was almost 4 months pregnant and still a little sick but managed to have a good time anyway.

After we got back we took Hunter to Yuma to celebrate his 2nd birthday with his cousin Cash who was born the same day. It fell Easter weekend and turned out to be such a nice trip.

Poor Hunter he had a rash on his face and the heat was not making it any better.
The summer was very hard for me being pregnant so in July Rhett took another trip to Yuma to visit his sick Grandad. This time he only took Emma. Bill passed away in October and luckily we made it just in time to say goodbye one more time.

In August Kruz was born on my Birthday.

To our surprise he had red hair just like Emma.

After Bills funeral my parents met us in Yuma and took our kids for 3 weeks back to Oklahoma. We really needed the break but it was a long time to be apart from them too. It worked out so well and Emma and Hunter really enjoyed themselves. Will Grandpa and Grandma do it again? That is yet to be determined.....

Alot changed after Kruz. Rhett and I started toying with the idea of moving home. We were so certain it was going to be soon, but here we are waiting. It's all in God's hands and when the time is right we have no doubt he will give us our hearts desire HOME.
